Lanivet parish is situated 2 1/2 miles from Bodmin and is geographically the centre of Cornwall. It consists of two villages, Lanivet and Nanstallon and the hamlets of Bodwannick, Bokiddick, Lamorick, St Ingunger, Trebell, Tregullon, Tremore, Woodley and part of St Lawrence.
You may wonder at the relevance of a panda that is featured on the sign at the Lanivet village pub; this is because for many years bamboo was grown in the village to feed the pandas of London Zoo!
