Bodmin is about as central in Cornwall as you can get; so as well as visiting all of Bodmin’s gems, it is a great place to stay and tour the county. These are just a selection of some of the places you can reach with ease from Bodmin.
Set in a former clay pit, the Eden Project is a must visit when in Cornwall. Approximately 20 minutes drive from Bodmin, visit the two giant biomes with plants from across the globe. Also, lots of great events happening across the whole year from ice skating to dinosaurs to real ales, there is something to appeal to everyone!
Very pretty harbour town on the north coast. You can either cycle down the Camel Trail from Bodmin or hop in the car for a thirty minute drive. Lovely little town with lots of good restaurants, shops and beautiful views.
Bodmin is equidistant to both the north and south coasts so your choice of beach is wide. Try the beautiful, sandy beach of Daymer Bay near Padstow or go rock pooling at Looe.
Beautiful sub-tropical gardens near Falmouth, it is approximately one hours drive from Bodmin. Meander down through the garden, taking in all the lushness of the garden, before reaching the private beach at the end for a paddle in the sea and a yummy ice cream!
There are miles and miles of spectacular walking along Cornwall’s coast path. From easy to more strenuous sections, there is a coastal walk for all abilities. Polzeath to Rock is a lovely family friendly section with beaches to explore on route and the promise of an ice cream at the end!
